Thank You

This is a very quick update to sincerely thank all of your for the outpouring of generosity I have experienced since the Help Jorge appeal. Total monies raised have just reached US$1450 and donations are still trickling in.

This is amazing!! I’m truly blown away by your kindness and very proud to be a part of such a generous, compassionate global community.

Jorge is doing well, and is still under the care of my amazing friend Alison. She has told him a little about what is happening, about an article on the internet and how people all over the world want to help him. I don’t think he quite understands the scope of that yet, and we certainly haven’t told him that he is famous on twitter, but that’s okay. He knows he is not alone and that people care about him. He knows we are here for him and that his needs will be met.

So far, we have enough money to pay Jorge’s rent for a year (and then some), but as he has recently experienced some diabetic medical problems, Alison is working on those first.

Some of you know that I have my sister visiting with me at the moment, and we have been having a wonderful time. She wrote a little about her experiences in her latest blog post.

Last night, I took her to meet Jorge and Alison. Even in her darkest time, she donated generously to the fund (as did so many of you) and wanted to meet the guy whom all the fuss was about.

I thought you guys might like to meet him too.

So, whilst this update is brief, I just wanted to extend my gratitude to you all. I am absolutely in awe  of each and every donation that has come in, and every single one fills my heart with hope and joy.

I’ll have more news soon, but for now I’m off to Tulum for a couple of nights to enjoy my time with my sister.

From Jorge, and Alison and me, thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!!!!!
